There is something about flowers and messy abstract marks that just seems made for collage.
Soft watercolor, delicate floral lines, unexpected scribbles and overlapping blocks of color all work beautifully together because they don’t need to be perfect.
This free printable floral abstract collage paper is filled with layers of pink, coral, peach and lavender, with delicate gold flowers appearing through the color and loose white marks drawn across the surface.
You can download the printable for free and use it in your art journal, junk journal, scrapbook, mixed-media artwork or next paper craft project.
A Floral Abstract Printable for Your Art Journal
I love collage papers that can disappear into the background of a page, but still have enough interesting little details to discover.
This one is especially good for that.
You could use the whole sheet as the beginning of an art journal page, adding your own paint, words, photographs or collage pieces over the top.
But I think it becomes even more interesting when you start cutting and tearing it apart.
The floral sections can become little botanical collage pieces. The brighter coral and pink areas are lovely for adding flashes of color, while the softer watercolor sections work beautifully behind text, vintage papers or photographs.
And don’t feel as though you need to keep the flowers intact.
Cut through them.
Tear across them.
Layer another piece of paper over half of a flower.
Let little fragments of gold line-work appear between other pieces of collage.
Sometimes those tiny unexpected details are what make a journal page interesting.

Ways to Use This Free Floral Collage Paper
You really don’t need to use this printable as one complete piece of artwork.
Try looking at it as a collection of colors, flowers, textures and marks that you can pull apart and rearrange.
Here are a few ideas:
- Create a layered floral journal page. Tear the paper into uneven pieces and overlap the different pink, coral and lavender sections, allowing little pieces of the gold flowers to peek through.
- Cut out the floral details. Use individual flowers or sections of the gold botanical line-work as small collage elements on another page.
- Make colorful journal tags. The different areas of the artwork would make beautiful backgrounds for tags, journal cards or little pockets.
- Mix it with vintage papers. Try placing the bright watercolor sections next to old book pages, handwritten letters, sheet music or vintage botanical illustrations.
- Use it as a mixed-media background. Glue down a larger section and then work over it with paint, pencils, crayons, stamps, ink or paint pens.
- Create small collage scraps. Tear the sheet into tiny pieces and keep them in your collage stash for those moments when a page just needs a little flash of pink or coral.
Try Making a Floral Layered Collage
If you’re not sure where to begin, this is a really simple project to try.
Print your floral collage sheet and tear it into several different-sized pieces.
Don’t try to preserve the original design.
Instead, choose the parts that catch your eye.
Maybe it’s one of the gold flowers.
Maybe it’s a bright coral square.
Maybe it’s just a tiny section where the watercolor and white lines overlap.
Arrange a few pieces on your journal page, turning some around and overlapping others. Then mix in something completely different; an old book page, handwritten text, a photograph, a butterfly, a postage stamp or another piece of printable collage paper.
Once you’re happy with the arrangement, glue everything down.
Then add something of your own.
Draw over the flowers. Add more scribbles. Paint around the edges. Write a few words across the page.
The idea isn’t to recreate the original printable.
It’s to use it as the beginning of something completely new.
Use It in a Junk Journal
This free printable floral collage paper also works beautifully for junk journaling.
Rather than using the whole sheet, cut or tear out the areas you love most and use them to decorate journal cards, pockets, tags, page edges and collage clusters.
The combination of watercolor and delicate floral line-work makes it especially lovely alongside vintage papers and ephemera.
You could even use a larger section to create a pocket and then use the leftover scraps to decorate the tags that sit inside it.
Nothing needs to go to waste.
Mix Florals With Unexpected Elements
One of my favorite things about this printable is that the flowers don’t have to make the finished artwork feel traditionally floral.
Try combining them with things that don’t obviously belong together.
Old maps.
Numbers.
Handwriting.
Vintage photographs.
Butterflies.
Geometric shapes.
Dark painted backgrounds.
Even another completely different abstract printable.
Let the delicate flowers peek through unexpected layers rather than making them the main focus.
That’s often where collage starts to become really interesting.

I hope you have fun with this one.
Print it. Tear it apart. Cut through the flowers. Keep a tiny scrap because you love the color. Cover half of it with paint. Add something that shouldn’t really belong there.
There isn’t a right way to use it.
Make it yours.
