Printable collage sheets are a simple way to start creating without needing lots of supplies. You can print them at home, cut or tear the pieces, and use them in art journals, junk journals, or mixed-media pages.
This guide walks you through the process step by step.
1. Download the Files
Click the download button on the page and save the PDF files to your device.
You can:
- Save them to a folder on your computer or phone
- Print immediately if you’re ready to start
If you download often, it helps to create a small folder (for example, Collage Papers) so everything stays organized.

2. Print Your Pages
You don’t need anything special to begin.
At home:
- Use a standard printer and regular paper to experiment
- Matte paper gives a soft, vintage look
- Thicker paper works well if you like layering
At a print shop:
- You can choose heavier paper or richer colors
- A good option if you don’t have a printer at home
Both options work; choose what feels easiest.

3. Cut or Tear Your Pieces
Once your pages are printed, cut or tear the parts you want to use.
- Tearing creates softer, textured edges
- Scissors give clean lines
- Mixing both adds contrast
There’s no right or wrong way to do this.
4. Start Layering
This is where your page starts to come together.
- Place pieces on your page before gluing anything down
- Overlap layers to create depth
- Combine colors and textures
- Leave space, you don’t need to fill every inch
A simple starting point:
- one background piece
- one main element
- one small detail
5. Glue & Build Slowly
Use a glue stick, double-sided tape, or matte medium; whatever you have on hand.
Work slowly. Add one piece at a time. You don’t need to finish a page in one sitting.
Often, the best pages happen gradually.
Need a Simple Way to Begin?
If you’re not sure where to start, try this:
- Choose one printed sheet
- Tear one piece
- Glue it onto a blank page
- Add one word or small mark
That’s enough to begin.
